Round 2 Envirofund projects

In December 2002, the Australian Government invited community groups and individuals to apply for funding for drought-related environmental works under a special $10 million Drought Recovery Round of the Envirofund. This round closed on 14 February.

Funding under Round 2 (Drought Recovery Round) targeted works to protect our land, water and vegetation from drought-induced environmental damage, or projects which are best undertaken when water levels are low. Priority was given to applications from areas declared as Exceptional Circumstances (EC) areas, or under consideration for EC.

The assessment panel reviewed all applications received by 30 January 2003 as a priority to ensure money was delivered quickly. The Minister announced the release of $3.3 million for successful priority projects on 28 March 2003 and $6.7 million for all other approved projects on 7 May 2003.
