Round 7 Envirofund projects
The special Drought Recovery Round of the Envirofund (Round 7) was launched on 15 July and closed on 26 August 2005. Community groups and individuals were invited to apply for funding for projects located in areas that were, on 26 August 2005, Exceptional Circumstances (EC) declared areas.
We could not accept applications from areas that were not EC declared areas.
Round 7 attracted a record 2567 applications seeking just over $57 million in funding. In response to this exceptionally high demand, ministers doubled the funding for this round to $20 million.
Community-based state assessment panels assessed the applications and made recommendations to ministers. Successful projects were announced by ministers on 9 December 2005.
